Origin of the Issels Treatment

The Issels Treatment is a comprehensive immunotherapy for cancer that has received international recognition. It originated in Germany and was developed by Josef M. Issels M.D. who was an expert member of the German Federal Government Commission in the Fight against Cancer from 1981 until his retirement in 1987. Since the late 1960s all German Health Insurance Providers have been covering cancer treatment administered in the Issels Hospital and in the hospitals of Dr. Issels’ followers who administer treatment based on Dr. Issels’ comprehensive concept.

The following are examples of complete long-term remissions of cancers that had otherwise been considered hopeless. These show that even in an advanced stage of the cancer disease an immune response with complete tumor remission can be achieved and patients can live cancer free for many years or decades.
