Treatment: Radium Implant and Radiation Therapy.
Remission.
January 1946
First Metastatic Recurrence: Tumor in Douglas. Treatment: Radiation Therapy.
Remission.
April 1946
Second Metastatic Recurrence at left pelvic wall. Treatment: Radiation Therapy.
Remission.
May 1953
Third Metastatic Recurrence: Solitary translucent area in right femur and in vertebral column.
Standard Treatment exhausted, patient considered incurable.
September to December 1953
Issels Treatment: 12 weeks of in-patient treatment and 6 months of out-patient follow-up treatment.
September 1953
Independ. Admission Exam: Infiltration of both parametriae (general rigidity of vaginal wall); plum-sized resistance near the rectum, adherent to the ischium; translucent area with ill-defined margins in the lower left femur.
December 1953
Discharge Exam: Complete remission of parametric infiltration; nearly complete remission of rectum metastasis; partial remission of bone lesion.
Later findings: Complete remission of all findings.
Follow-up until 1971
17 years cancer free without recurrence, patient leading normal life.
