First Diagnosis
July 1953
Diagnosis: Inoperable Cervical Cancer Stage III At the vaginal part of the uterus deep bleeding crater. Left parametrium: Broad infiltrated.

Histology: Squamous Cell Carcinoma, medium degree differentiation. Pathol. Institute, Women’s Hospital of Westphalia, Bochum.
Standard/ Conventional Treatment
August to September 1953
Treatment: Radium Implant and Radiation Therapy.

No remission.

No further standard treatment possible: Patient considered incurable.
Issels Treatment

November 1953 to February 1954
Issels Treatment: 13 weeks of in-patient treatment at the Issels hospital and 6 months of out-patient follow-up treatment.

December 1953
Independent Examination: In addition to the infiltrate of the left parametrium there is ...a small resistance near the body of the uterus in the right parametrium.

February 1954
Independent Discharge Examination: Remission.

Follow-up until 1971
17 years cancer free without any recurrence, patient leading a normal healthy life, fully fit for work.
