Diagnosis: Carcinoma of the Cervix Stage III.

Histology: Partly keratinized, highly undifferentiated squamous cell carcinoma, high degree of malignancy.

Pathol. Inst. Munich, and Pathol. Inst. University of Marburg.

Treatment: Incomplete surgical removal.
Standard/ Conventional Treatment

March 1952
Radiation therapy. Remission.

August 1952
First recurrence. Histology: Undifferentiated adeno-or squamous cell carcinoma.

Pathol. Inst. University of Marburg.

Treatment: Maximum dosis of radiation. Remission.

1952
Second recurrence. No further standard treatment possible.

Patient considered incurable.

Issels Treatment

March 1952
Independent admission diagnosis: Pelvis filled with tumor masses. Stenosis of the rectum. Immediate colostomy necessary.

March to June 1952
Issels Treatment: 10 weeks of in-patient treatment at the Issels hospital with 6 months of out-patient follow-up treatment.

March to April 1954
Issels Treatment: 6 weeks of in-patient treatment at the Issels hospital with 6 months of out-patient follow-up treatment.

April 1954
Independent findings: Partial Remission.

Since 1955 Complete Remission

Follow-up until 1971
16 years cancer free without any recurrence, patient leading a normal healthy life.
