Diagnosis: Carcinoma of the Cervix Stage II.

Histology: Tubular adenomatous and adenopappilar carcinoma with high degree of malignancy. Pathol. Instit. Bremen, and Path. Inst. Munich.

Treatment: Radium Implant and Radiation Therapy.

Recurrence

September 1955
Findings by Gyn. Oncol. Institute of the City of Bremen: The right parametrium, the uterosacral ligament included, are fan-like infiltrated. Because of large spread, surgery not possible, radiation exhausted.

No further standard treatment possible. Patient considered incurable.

Issels Treatment

End of September to December 1955
Issels Treatment: 12 weeks of in-patient treatment at the Issels hospital with 8 months of out-patient follow-up treatment.

August 1956
Issels Treatment: 4 weeks of in-patient treatment at the Issels hospital with 6 months of follow-up home program.

1956/57
Gradual remission

February 1958
Issels Treatment: 4 weeks in-patient with 6 months follow-up home program.

June 1960
Independent Findings by Gyncol. Oncol. Institute of the City of Bremen: Complete remission. Discharge from Observation

Follow-up until 1971
11 years cancer free without any recurrence, patient leading normal healthy life.
