Phytotherapy

Phytotherapy refers to the use of herbal medicinal products in the treatment of diseases.

Over hundreds of years humans on all continents have used plants or parts of plants, e.g. juices, gums, oils, teas, to treat their ailments. This type of phytotherapy was empirical, whereas modern science has opened the doors for basic research also in the field of phytomedicine.

Results of modern research hold great promise for phytotherapy to be integrated into the treatment of cancer.

At the Issels Treatment Center various forms of phytotherapy are administered according the patients’ individual condition. These therapies are always integrated into the comprehensive treatment program to help enhance the proper functioning of all the defense mechanisms as well as the elimination of the toxins from the break down of cancer cells.
